LINK-AGES PRIVACY AND USE POLICY

This Policy relates to the Website www.Link-ages.com and the Apps named Link-ages Hub and Link-ages Go, collectively referred to as “Link-ages”.

Introduction

Link-ages is a suite of Apps designed for communication with and use by older or less experienced iPad users (the “Main User”). The main purpose of Link-ages is to provide a secure and private way for family members and friends to send messages, photographs and other information to the Main User. 

The privacy and security of the users’ data is the essence of the Link-ages concept. Many people are justifiably concerned by the thought of their messages and data being publicly available on the internet, as is the case with many forms of social media and, in consequence, refuse to use such forms of communication. Link-ages avoids this difficulty and maintains the Main User’s privacy by only permitting communication from people specifically authorised by the Main User within a private group which cannot be accessed from outside. The messages sent to the Main User by a family member or friend are completely private and can only be seen by the Main User and that family member or friend.

The main App, called Link-ages Hub, runs on an iPad and is used by the Main User to receive input from selected family members and friends. It also provides a diary function and alarm system for keeping track of appointments and medication.

These family members and friends use the Link-ages Go App which is the quick input App designed to send text messages, voice messages and photographs to the Main User. Link-ages Go can run on iPad and iPhone.

For Main Users who are less confident with technology there is a version for tablets called Link-ages Hub which can be set up and/or managed by a family member or friend for the Main User. In this role the person helping and supporting the main user can set alarms in the Diary and Schedule, modify the settings and also accept new contacts and link them to tiles. 

Storage of Data

Link-ages users’ data is stored partly on the users’ own devices and partly on remote servers or in the Cloud. The collection of Link-ages users’ personal information is kept to the minimum required to enable Link-ages to function and will be used for that purpose only. It will not be divulged or sold to third parties. There is no advertising on the App and Link-ages users cannot be searched for by name on the internet or through any existing social network. 

Our Security

We are concerned about protecting the confidentiality of the information and content that you provide.  We will use physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect this information and content, and will limit access to this information to only employees and contractors who need the information in order to run, maintain and develop the Apps.  Please be aware that no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

However, we may be required to reveal personal information pursuant to lawful requests in compliance with local or international law.  This will only be done if we believe, in good faith, that the request for information meets Applicable legal standards. Your information and your security

To set up and use Link-ages you will need to choose some information that will identify your family group including a username and an 8 digit keycode. Please take care to keep this information confidential and do not disclose or share this information with anyone other than individuals whom you wish to invite to join your private group.  If you do disclose this information you will be solely responsible for any breaches of your account.

If the Link-ages Hub is set up by someone else for the Main User, that person is wholly responsible for explaining the provisions of this policy to the Main User and obtaining the Main User’s consent to proceed.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

Automatically collected information

Whenever you interact with our Apps or with the website Link-ages.com, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device including, but not limited to, your IP address, device identification and “cookie” information.  You can remove or block cookies in your browser settings. This App does not collect precise real time information about the location of your device.

You can stop the collection of all information by uninstalling the App but information may persist in back-up copies for a reasonable period of time.

Fair usage

It is a condition of use of Link-ages that users will not use the service for any inappropriate or illegal purpose or in a manner which breaches copyright or intellectual property rights or which utilises storage and bandwidth resources significantly more heavily than would be the case for the average user. We reserve the right to suspend accounts for breach of copyright or intellectual property rights and for excessive consumption of resources.

Link-ages, Link-ages Hub, Link-ages and all logos, designs, software and code are covered by Copyright.

End User License

Link-ages and the information and materials that it contains are the property of Link-ages Tech Limited and are protected from unauthorized copying and dissemination by copyright law, trademark law, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to these terms and payment of the applicable licence fee we grant you a non-exclusive, license to download, install and use one copy of the respective App on an iPad or iPhone that you own or control for your use. When you purchase Link-ages, you purchase a license to use the app. 

Link-ages Apps are provided "as is." We disclaim all representations, warranties and conditions, either express, implied, statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, non-infringement, title, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose. We will not be liable for any type of content exchanged by means of the services.

Limitation of liability 

We accept no liability for any loss or damage, of whatever nature and howsoever caused exceeding £20 in aggregate.

Availability and Changes

We may alter, suspend, or discontinue Link-ages, or any part thereof, at any time and for any reason but will endeavour to provide advance notice of any such occurrence on our website. Link-ages may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance or malfunction of computer or network equipment or other reasons. 

We may revise this policy from time to time. The most current version will be available on our website. 

Apple and Google Privacy Policy

This policy is to be read in conjunction with the latest or appropriate version of the Apple Privacy Policy or Google Privacy Policy. In the event of contradiction or conflict the Apple or Google Policy shall take precedence.
